When you step onto the ice as a sled hockey pusher, you’re not just helping someone move forward—you’re helping create opportunity, confidence, and inclusion.

Sled hockey pushers play a critical role in adaptive hockey. They support athletes who need physical assistance by helping propel sleds, maintain positioning, and safely navigate the ice during practices and games. But the impact of the role goes far beyond the mechanics of skating and pushing.

What Does a Sled Hockey Pusher Do?

Pushers work directly with athletes on the ice, following coaching direction to support drills and gameplay. They help athletes get on and off the ice, stay safe during practices, and fully experience the excitement of being part of a team.

Most importantly, pushers help remove barriers—allowing athletes to focus on skill-building, teamwork, and having fun.
